Lorem ipsum generator online free — placeholder text in one click
Short answer: choose paragraphs, sentences, words or a bullet list above, set how many you need, and click Generate — realistic placeholder text appears instantly, ready to copy. No signup, nothing leaves your browser.
What is lorem ipsum for?
Designers and developers fill mockups with lorem ipsum — pseudo-Latin text that looks like real copy without being readable — so clients and stakeholders judge the layout, not the words. It beats "asdf asdf" because it has natural word lengths, sentence rhythms and paragraph shapes, which is what actually reveals spacing and typography problems.
Four formats
Paragraphs for body copy mockups, sentences for headlines and captions, words when you need an exact count (up to 5,000), and bullet lists for feature lists and menus. The classic-opening option starts with the traditional "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit…" sentence designers expect.
Frequently asked questions
How do I generate lorem ipsum text?
Choose paragraphs, sentences, words or lists, set how many you need, and click Generate. The text appears instantly and you can copy it with one click.
What is lorem ipsum used for?
It's placeholder text designers and developers use to fill layouts before the real copy is ready — it shows how a page looks with realistic text flow without distracting readable content.
Can I start with the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"?
Yes — the "Start with classic opening" option is on by default and begins your text with the traditional "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit..." sentence.
How much text can I generate?
Up to 100 paragraphs, sentences or list items, or up to 5,000 words in words mode — more than enough for any mockup.
Is it private?
Completely. Generation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored or tracked.
