Short answer: ToolVaultly’s unit converters handle the three conversions people need most, properly: length (inches, centimetres, feet, metres, miles and more), weight (kilograms, pounds, ounces, grams and stone) and temperature (Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin). Each converter works in both directions, shows the exact conversion factor it used, and runs free in your browser — no signup, no waiting, no answer buried under ads. For cooking conversions by ingredient, the kitchen hub’s cups to grams tool is linked below as well.
Most unit mistakes are not arithmetic mistakes — they are factor mistakes: dividing where you should multiply, or using a rounded factor that quietly drifts. These converters show the factor behind every answer, so you can see the maths is right and reuse it offline if you need to.
This hub is deliberately small and fast today: the three everyday conversions, done well. Measurement conversions that belong to a trade live with their trade — tile and concrete quantities in the DIY hub, ingredient weights in the kitchen hub, and time conversions in the date and time hub — and the most useful of those are linked from the section below.
Which unit converter do you need?
The length converter covers inches, centimetres, feet, yards, metres, kilometres and miles — including fraction-to-decimal inches for workshop measurements. The weight converter moves between kilograms, pounds, ounces, grams and stone. The temperature converter handles Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin, for weather, ovens and science. Converting for a recipe instead? Ingredient weights live in the kitchen hub’s cups to grams converter, and clock-style conversions live in the date and time hub’s military time converter.
Everyday Unit Converters
Length, weight and temperature — both directions, exact factors shown, answers in the units you actually asked for.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert inches to centimetres?
Multiply by 2.54 — that factor is exact by definition. The
length converter does it in both directions and also handles fractional inches, which is where tape-measure conversions usually go wrong.
How do I convert pounds to kilograms?
Divide pounds by 2.20462 (or multiply by 0.453592). The
weight converter shows the factor it used and covers ounces, grams and stone as well.
How do I convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Subtract 32, then multiply by 5/9. The
temperature converter handles it instantly and includes Kelvin for science work — plus the common oven temperatures people actually look up.
Are these converters free?
Yes — free, unlimited and private. They run in your browser, so conversions happen instantly and nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
Where do I convert cups to grams?
That conversion depends on the ingredient, so it lives in the kitchen hub: the
cups to grams converter is ingredient-aware and also covers tablespoons, millilitres and ounces.
