Quick answer: enter clock-in, clock-out and lunch minutes for each day above — the calculator totals your week, splits regular vs overtime hours (over 40), and multiplies by your rate for gross pay.

Time card calculator

Short answer: a time card calculator totals weekly work hours from daily clock-in/out times. This one handles lunch deductions, overnight shifts and overtime pay — enter your week above.

Timecard calculator with lunch

Short answer: enter your lunch break in minutes for each day and it's subtracted automatically: 9:00–17:00 with a 30-minute lunch = 7.5 hours. The calculator above does this for all seven days at once.

How to calculate time card hours

Short answer: for each day, subtract clock-in from clock-out, subtract unpaid breaks, then add the days together. Hours over 40 in a week are overtime (usually 1.5×). The calculator automates the whole thing including gross pay.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my time card hours?
For each day: clock-out minus clock-in, minus lunch/break minutes. Add all seven days. Enter your times above and it's done automatically, with regular and overtime hours split out.
How does the lunch deduction work?
Enter lunch in minutes per day (e.g. 30). It's subtracted from that day's elapsed time before totaling. Only enter unpaid breaks — paid breaks stay in your hours.
When does overtime kick in?
Hours over 40 per week count as overtime, paid at the multiplier you choose (default 1.5× time-and-a-half). Some states and contracts differ — check your local rules.
Does it handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If clock-out is earlier than clock-in (e.g. 22:00 to 06:00), the shift is treated as crossing midnight.
How is gross pay calculated?
Regular hours × your rate, plus overtime hours × your rate × the overtime multiplier. Enter your hourly rate above to see the pay figure.
Is this time card calculator free?
Yes — free forever, no signup. Your timesheet stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored.
